| This is a follow up game from Katamari Damacy. The game is about rolling items on a ball called Katamari. This is a VERY Japanese game. This is no ordinary game that you just should go out and buy. This is not for everybody. |

When you start We Love Katamari, you start to think why you even bought this game. It seems like a children’s game and too weird. This is a game from Japan and it shows. You get a message from the king that you shall roll up katamaris on a ball. I have not played Katamari Damacy, and it shows. In my experience of the game it seems that could have been a wise thing to do.
There is also a 2 player mode in the game, but that is so bad it not worth playing. The main objective is to roll the ball (katamari) around so that items attach too it. The king (your father) gives you a certain amount of time to collect items. There are also some different play modes. You can roll around a sumo wrestler instead of the ball and collect food. There are certain aspects of the game that you have to love. The humor in the game can be slightly funny and if you fail the king will shoot you with his laser eyes.

The graphics in this game are intentional. They are supposed to be this simple and colorful. There are a lot colors in this game. The simplicity of the figures amazes me. This is not a game that should be based on graphics. The intention is to make it as entertaining as possible. That’s one of the reasons that you see that is a Japanese game. And the colors seems to jump out of the screen and into your lap. Its not impressive, but it works.
|
The music in this game can either make you crazy or addicted. In my case somewhere in between. There is a huge variety of interesting music. There is a mix between swing, techno, j-pop and anything that you can imagine. There is not much sense to this. This is a very bizarre game with very bizarre sound and music,

This must be some of the most annoying controls in a game that I have ever played, According to run the ball you have to use both analog sticks, like a tank, You point then both forward to go and keep the right one down to right. It’s the same with left side. This can either tickle your brain for a moment or you will get it after half and hour. But the point is here the game is all about rolling around that ball and that’s how you steer.
|
This seems like a game that you either love or want to throw outside and shoot it with a shotgun. The music and graphics may seem like you are playing on an acid trip, but it is cool in some way. I have never played a game like it, and it can be challenging and fun. But it helps to have played the predecessor. It seems to be a limited fan base for the katamari game. This is not a game that I would recommend to everyone, children may enjoy it most for all it cool colors and sound effects.
